  5. WinJammer is a fully featured MIDI sequencer for Windows 3.x.  It uses standard
  6. MIDI files, giving you access to a huge number of songs.  WinJammer also
  7. contains a companion program called WinJammer Player, which is used to play MIDI
  8. song files in the background.

  10. Major features of WinJammer include:
  11.     - imports Adlib ROL files
  12.     - up to 64 tracks
  13.     - runs in ALL Windows modes (including enhanced mode)
  14.     - very powerful editing commands
  15.     - unique piano roll style notation for editing
  16.     - full online help
  17.     - supports standard MIDI files
  18.     - supports MIDI system exclusive bulk dumps
  19.     - supports Windows Multimedia Extensions

  22.     - supports standard MIDI files
  23.     - up to 64 tracks
  24.     - runs in ALL Windows modes (including enhanced mode)
  25.     - in enhanced mode, will even play while in DOS
  26.     - full online help
  27.     - builds albums of songs to play (forever if desired)
  28.     - supports Windows Multimedia Extensions

  32. The following equipment is required to use WinJammer:
  33.     - PC running either Microsoft Windows 3.0 with the Multimedia Extensions
  34.       or Microsoft Windows 3.1
  35.     - a mouse (not strictly required, but very handy)
  36.     - some MME compatible MIDI devices
  37.  
  38. Any MIDI device supported by the Multimedia Extensions is supported by
  39. WinJammer.  This includes Adlib/Sound Blaster series of cards, and the Roland
  40. MPU-401 type of devices, including the MT-32, LAPC, SCC-1 family of devices.

  44. Installation
  45.  
  46. If you are upgrading to WinJammer from a previous release, please see the next
  47. section.  Otherwise, simply create a directory and copy the files into it.  You
  48. should have the following files:
  49.         WINJAMMR.EXE    - WinJammer executable
  50.         WINJAMMR.HLP    - the online help file for WinJammer
  51.         WJMRPLAY.EXE    - WinJammer Player executable
  52.         WJMRPLAY.HLP    - the online help file for WinJammer Player
  53.         MIDILIB.DLL     - DLL which runs the MIDI hardware
  54.         README          - this file
  55.         SONGS.DOC       - explanation and credits on sample songs
  56.         MIN-G.MID       - Bach's Minuet in G (kind of)
  57.         CHINESE.MID     - Chinese Dance from the Nutcracker
  58.         PALETTE.MID     - Just a Closer Walk with Thee
  59.         WHATSNEW.DOC    - description of recent changes

  61. Add the programs to program manager using the File New command of program
  62. manager.  Double click on the icons to start the programs.
  63.  
  64. Once WinJammer is started, use the MIDI Configure command to configure WinJammer
  65. for your hardware.  The help contains a Quick Start topic which may also be
  66. interesting.

  70. Registration

  72. WinJammer is not a free program, but is being distributed under the Shareware
  73. concept.  This allows you to evaluate the program to determine whether it is
  74. worth anything, and then buy it if you are going to use it.  You must register
  75. the program if you are going to use it.

  77. The version of WinJammer you have is fully featured.  If you use WinJammer after
  78. a reasonable evaluation period of two weeks, register the program.  If you don't
  79. think WinJammer is worth the money, let me know this too, and I'll see if I can
  80. satisfy you with the next release.

  82. Registration costs $50 US.  To register, simply send me a cheque or money order
  83. for $50 US at the address below.  Registrations are also accepted through
  84. Software Excitement!, who will accept Visa/Mastercard.  For information on

  103. changed or modified in any way except by the author.  WinJammer and WinJammer
  104. Player may be freely distributed so long as all files are included and no money
  105. is charged.  A small copying fee not exceeding $10 US may be charged.

  107. All warranties are disclaimed, including damage to hardware and/or software from
  108. use of this program.  In no event will I be liable to you for any damages,
  109. including lost profits, lost savings or other incidental or consequential
  110. damages arising out of your use or inability to use the program, or any other
  111. claim by any other party.  In any event, the extent of my liability is limited
  112. to amount of money received by me from you.
